The guitar industry is like a two sided coin of production. The first being low cost machine made imports with very few
options to choose if any, the second being high priced handmade customs made to order. In an effort to bridge these two worlds,
Yavcon guitar had made an attempt to offer an inexpensive line of cnc made import guitars with custom shop options. I was
certain that a guitar priced in between cheap imports and expensive customs with made to order specs would be a hit; but sadly
the communication barriers broke the deal and this line never took off.
The pictures below are of a MIRRORED HORIZONTALLY FLIPPED Yavcon Vortex. The wood that was supposed to be used
for the front accidently got put on the rear. I suggested the guitar be made into a left handed version to save the project,
however it wound up being flip mirrored and finished as a right handed guitar. There is technically no reason this shape cannot
be used this way, however I personally feel the design does not flow well and strap button placement may be an issue.
This guitar in particular was given a headstock shape I have never seen before. I believe my original shapes suit the Vortex
much better, but I did give the company permission to complete the build after the wood mistake was discovered.
